The Office of State Superintendent of Education (OSSE, Washington DC) contracts with MN Associates, Inc. (MNA) to complete the three-year DC Community Schools Initiative Incentive grant. The purpose of this grant is to establish a total of eight (8) community schools in the District of Columbia, as defined by the Community Schools Incentive Act of 2012. The overall goal of the Community Schools Incentive Initiative Grant is to provide support and resources to students, their families, and the local communities that will enable the eligible consortia to create and enhance community-based partnerships at high-needs schools within the district and improve both access and achievement for students who need them. MNA is looking forward to engaging various stakeholders across the eight schools throughout the evaluation period. Using a mixed methods approach, MNA will conduct on-site focus groups, phone and in-person interviews, and assess student achievement data at the participating schools. We are very excited about the new opportunity.
