MNA spends two days at the NASA Ames Research Center (Silicon Valley) to learn about wind tunnel, zero-gravity lab, micro-satellite, vertical simulator, and the NASA SPHERES program. The team accompanied a group of Northwest Indian College (NWIC, WA) faculty and students to the center as part of an ongoing evaluation of the NASA-funded Minority University Research Education project (MUREP) that aspires to develop, train, and implement Lummi Nation high school teachers and students and students from NWIC. The project titled: NASA Inspires Native American Students (NINAS) is a cross-collaboration between University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and NWIC.
