As one of the evaluation consulting firms working on issues of teacher preparation, quality, and improvement, we have worked with and helped institutions and organizations across the nation to improve the skills of the educators of today and set up programs to train the teachers of tomorrow.
We are very excited to start our new evaluation work with Frostburg State University (Maryland) for their 2019 awarded Teacher Quality and Preparation (TQP) grant from the U.S. Department of Education titled: Maryland Accelerates-–Teacher Leader Residency Inclusive Excellence (MA-TLRIE) in partnership with Garrett County and Frederick County Public Schools (MD).
As part of the 5-year engagement, MNA will conduct a concurrent mixed methods quasi-experimental study of the teacher residency program at the two counties with high-needs rural schools.
Our work will inform growing literature on STEM teacher preparation, competencies, career ladder opportunities, promising practices, and pre-and-in service teaching experiences while bridging opportunity and achievement gaps through a region-wide infrastructure development educator preparation framework in the state of Maryland.

We are proud to be able to continue our work in teacher preparation area. Currently, we are completing year 4 evaluation of a similar TQP grant for Coppin State University (2016-2021/22) and three NSF-funded Noyce grants (Track 1) in Mississippi, Maryland, and North Carolina.
