Almost three years ago, I wrote a piece on Grant Evaluation As a Career under contract with the Wiley Online Services, the brand managers for the American University, DC. During that time, AU was starting a new program in MS in Measurement and Evaluation. My contact, Dr. Beverly Peters, reached out to me asking if I could do a blog on the topic. I immediately said yes.
Honestly, it wasn’t a groundbreaking piece on an obscure topic or an area of study, nor was it an over night smashing hit on social media and it certainly wasn’t anything super special that folks in the evaluation business didn’t know about already.
What it was and still holds true is a personal journey into the world of evaluation. It is about my learning(s), trials, and tribulations. With some on-the-job training and perhaps, a lot of faith, I made a consulting company. This is something that I will always hold close to my heart.
Give it a read if you have about 6 minutes. You may not learn new things about evaluation but you may like the story of an evaluator.
