So, it went like this….
An introductory email—>follow up phone call—>an idea generation—>an email to the NSF PO–>a grant proposal—>an $80,000 award—> a week-long intensive workshop on Artificial Intelligence in July.
Glad to be working with Dr. Sambit Bhattacharya and his team at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Fayetteville State University (NC), who will be conducting a summer workshop on AI. The workshop will be via Zoom on July 20-24 and will focus on ~20 North Carolina high school teachers, faculty/instructors from nearby community colleges, and universities in the state.
What’s more, one of the three keynote speakers (from the industry and the government) is my high school classmate, Dr. Sudipta Dasmohapatra, Director of the Masters in Statistical Science, Department of Statistical Science at Duke University. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Fuqua School of Business at Duke University where she teaches Digital Marketing.
Really excited to be evaluating the workshop that will use the POGIL pedagogical technique and virtual activities centered on Decision Tree, Artificial Neural Networks, and Regression.
