24 rising juniors and seniors from across the Greater Washington’s school systems participated in an intensive 2-week long (hybrid) Quantum Immersion Program as part of George Mason University and Potomac Quantum Innovation Center’s USDE-funded, “Pathways to Quantum Program” in close collaboration with MITRE, George Washington University, Information Technology & Innovation Foundation (ITIF), University of Maryland, and ConnectedDMV.
Students immersed themselves in learning about quantum mechanics, the practical and inter-disciplinary applications of the same and all this from the researchers, policy makers, scientists, faculty members and student mentors. They visited UMD, NASA, the White House, GWU, and Mitre office all in a week. The program concluded today with grand presentations.
It’s always a great pleasure to visit the splendid campus of my alma mater (twice) and even better when I get to evaluate a grant!
