What an incredible opportunity to attend and present at the annual #HBCU UP PI meeting in DC today while also celebrating the 25th anniversary ππΌππ½ of the HBCU-UP program at the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Met with our amazing current clients from the Clark Atlanta University (INCLUDES-Alliance), Tuskegee University (CREST, PREM, HBCU-UP Implementation), Bowie State University (TIP), and Dillard University (HBCU-UP Implementation), connected with several attendees who were eager to learn about evaluation and engaged with a few NSF program officers.
My presentation on culturally-relevant evaluation practices and the three-way communication exchange was well-received.
I lost a bet to my team member over the attendance numbers. I was expecting 5 people but 24 showed up and more importantly, stayed throughout the 45 minutes session to hear me talk a lot about evaluation and my good old tractor π story from my past life π
Over the years, we’ve had the honor and privilege to work with all HBCUs, either directly or indirectly through grant-funded initiatives since 2009, starting from a grant evaluation opportunity from the Mellon Foundation awarded to the UNCF. Last year, we completed evaluations for six HBCUs for their Targeted Infusion Projects, including Jackson State University, Albany State University (2), Bowie State University, and North Carolina A&T.
Special thanks ππ½ to super star π Iris R. Wagstaff, Ph.D. at the AAAS for giving me the opportunity to present today. βοΈ
Excited for more collaborations and milestones ahead!
