🏀 March Madness tips off on March 17 but our team is already in the game, scoring big reports of our own! From the awesome successful launch of SpaceX Flight 3 to weathering March showers for April flowers, we’re tackling challenges with the tenacity of a basketball champ. Amidst spring showers and early blooms (Oh! and the Cherry Blossoms next week), we’re also facing the less glamorous side of the season – allergies! But like true professionals, we’re not letting a few sniffles slow us down.
In the midst of it all, we’ve managed to juggle a whopping 20 odd evaluation reports between January and March for various grant-funded initiatives, showcasing our ability to stay focused and deliver results even when the pressure is on.
Our journey includes navigating the terrain of grants like the USDE Title III – Strengthening Institutional Capacity, USDE Title V (Hispanic Serving Institutions), and USDE HSI STEM, which are vital lifelines for institutions and students. We’re also making strides with the NSF S-STEM, NSF ERC, NSF INCLUDES-ALLIANCE, NSF CAREER, NSF NRT, DOC NOAA, and NSF Noyce grants.
USDE Title III grants strengthen institutions serving low-income students, improving academic quality and fiscal stability.
USDE Title V grants develop Hispanic-Serving Institutions, enhancing educational opportunities for Latinx/Hispanic students.
USDE HSI STEM grants target STEM programs at Hispanic-Serving Institutions, increasing Hispanic student participation in STEM fields.
NSF S-STEM scholarships support talented, financially needy STEM students.
NSF ERCs advance engineering knowledge and technologies, integrating research and education.
NSF INCLUDES-ALLIANCE aims to increase underrepresented group participation in STEM.
NSF CAREER awards support early-career faculty in becoming academic leaders.
NSF Noyce grants focus on scholarships, stipends, and programmatic support for STEM majors and professionals to become K-12 mathematics and science teachers.
NASA SciAct (Science Activation) focuses on competitively-selected network of collaborative projects that seek to connect NASA Science with diverse learners of all ages in ways that activate minds and promote a deeper understanding of our world and beyond, with the ultimate Vision: To increase learners’ active participation in the advancement of human knowledge.
NOAA –NCAS-M II – The NOAA Center for Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology II that supports undergraduate scholarships and graduate fellowships that focus on the participation of students from traditionally underrepresented minority communities in NOAA’s mission-related scientific, management, and policy professional workforce. This research is based on work supported by the U.S. Department of Commerce …
NSF NRT (NSF Research Traineeship) program explores ways for graduate students in research-based master’s and doctoral degree programs to develop their skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to pursue a range of STEM careers. NRT is dedicated to effective training of STEM graduate students in high priority interdisciplinary or convergent research areas, through a comprehensive traineeship model that is innovative, evidence-based, and aligned with changing workforce and research needs.
And as conference season is also in full swing, we’re reflecting on our recent attendance at the NSF Accelerating Research Translation (ART), The National Center for Analysis of Longitudinal Data in Education Research (CALDER), and AAAS HBCU-UP conferences in February.
Next up, we’re off to New York, Florida, and Texas (2), expanding our horizons and sharing our evaluation findings with clients and colleagues.
So, as we gear up for the madness of March and the excitement of conference season, let’s continue to channel that energy into our work and keep pushing towards our goals! 🌸🚀
