From evaluating the USDE-funded HSI STEM grant, STEM Opportunities for Low-Income and Hispanic Students (“SOHLIS”) to building spaghetti and marshmallows towers, had an enriching day at the Dominican University of New York (DUNY).
Started with a presentation on HSI STEM grant, “SOHLIS’” evaluation, delving into Year 2 results, lessons learned, strategies and promising practices.
Then came the fun part—leading a team building activity with spaghetti sticks and marshmallows! The challenge was to construct the tallest tower in 20 minutes, and the results were amazing. The winning tower stood at an impressive 28 inches, a testament to the power of teamwork and creativity.
Huge thanks to everyone who attended and participated. Your energy and dedication made both the evaluation session and the team building activity truly memorable.
Can’t wait for our paths to cross again!
