๐ Itโs here! ๐ ๐ โStats Can Be Fun!โ โ An illustrated storybook for middle and high schoolers, teachers, and parents
From strolling the Iowa Avenue Literary Walk (near the University of Iowa over two weeks ago) to standing near the stunning, formula-filled ribbons in the university’s Engineering Department, Iโve been reminded just how powerfully words and numbers shape our world.
That experience has inspired this book โ a short, illustrated story that shows students that statistics doesnโt have to be scary, abstract, or boring.
In โStats Can Be Fun!โ, we join students Anita, Monita, Jackson, and Colt as they walk into Ms. Smithโs statistics class skepticalโฆ and walk out realizing how statistics can help them understand the world, solve everyday problems, and make a difference (even raise money for their afterโschool club!).
โ
For middle and high schoolers โ to make statistics approachable, relatable, and relevant
โ
For teachers โ a resource to spark conversations and make statistics come alive
โ
For parents โ a way to support and understand the role statistics can play in shaping a childโs thinking.
๐ This is NOT a commercial project. Itโs a labor of love โ a quiet reminder that words and numbers can work handโinโhand to educate, empower, and inspire.
Check it out, share it, and help spread the word!
