Four years, 1,322 learners, and a lot to be proud of.
MN Associates, Inc. (MNA) has completed the final evaluation of the TechMAP Program (Tech Metro Area Pathways) at Montgomery College (MD), funded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Strengthening Community Colleges Training Grants Program, Round 2 (SCC2).
TechMAP set out to build accelerated, no-cost IT career pathways for underemployed and underrepresented adults in the greater Washington, D.C. region. Over the grant period, the program:
🔹 Served 1,322 students, 31% above its goal
🔹 Enrolled 706 students in technical pathways, more than 70% above its goal
🔹 Reached an 87% completion rate, well above the 72% baseline
🔹 Exceeded its certification goal, with 290 students earning industry-recognized credentials
🔹 Helped 171 students into employment, including 100 in IT roles, exceeding the IT employment goal
The evaluation also points to what comes next: connecting completers to jobs remains the program’s biggest ongoing challenge, and strong employer pipelines will be key to sustaining these gains.
